My Favorite Places in Morristown, NJ

Morristown is the heart of Morris County — Revolutionary War history, one of the best restaurant rows in North Jersey, and the Green at its center. As a personal injury attorney here, I also love it as a neighbor.

Morristown, the county seat of Morris County, NJ.

A personal injury attorney is supposed to see a town as a grid of intersections. I see Morristown as something richer: the county seat of Morris County, a place where George Washington once wintered, and a downtown that’s become one of the liveliest in North Jersey.

When a neighbor is hurt in a crash on Speedwell Avenue or a fall on an icy sidewalk near the Green, they’re not a file number to me. So before the legal part, here’s the Morristown I actually love.

01Getting Around

The streets around the Green

Everything in Morristown radiates from the historic Morristown Green. South Street runs from the Green into the heart of the restaurant district, then continues as Washington Street; Speedwell Avenue and Madison Avenue carry traffic in and out of downtown.

Those same busy stretches — plus the Route 287 ramps that ring the town — are where I see a lot of serious crashes. If you’ve been hurt on one of them, that’s exactly what my firm does, and I get into it below.

02Where I Eat

The Morristown table

In a few short years South Street turned into one of the strongest restaurant rows in North Jersey. Right on the Green, 1776 by David Burke draws the special-occasion crowd, while Coniglio’s Old Fashioned does wood-fired pizza a three-minute walk across the Green. South+Pine is the brunch favorite everyone recommends.

And the rest of the lineup — for date night there’s Chef Fredy’s Table and Marjan Persian Grill; for a pint, the classic Irish Grasshopper off the Green. Morristown’s craft-beer scene alone is worth the trip.

03What I Do

History, the arts, and the outdoors

You can’t beat the history here. Morristown National Historical Park — Jockey Hollow and the Ford Mansion, Washington’s winter headquarters — is the country’s first national historical park. The Mayo Performing Arts Center is my go-to for a show, and the Morris Museum is New Jersey’s second-largest. When I want fresh air, Lewis Morris Park has the trails.

04Where Our Kids Grow Up

The Morristown schools

So much of what makes a place home comes down to its schools. Morristown and Morris Township families share the Morris School District, anchored by Morristown High School (the Colonials) and Frelinghuysen Middle School, with neighborhood elementaries across both towns. As a parent and a neighbor, I care a lot about the crosswalks and school zones around them staying safe.

Why a local personal injury attorney matters in Morristown

Here’s where the lawyer in me comes back. Knowing a place changes how well you can fight for the people in it. When I take a crash on Speedwell Avenue or a fall near the Green, I already know the streets, the traffic, and the local context an out-of-town firm has to guess at.
